A trial date has been set in the kidnapping case of Gqeberha biokineticist Riana Pretorius.
The men accused of her kidnapping made a brief appearance in the Gqeberha Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The state alleges that Xolisile Rawutini and Xolani Kafile kidnapped Pretorius outside her workplace in Newton Park on 16 March last year.
Pretorius was released unharmed, eight days later, after R1.1m ransom was paid.
Initially, a ransom demand of R2m was made.
The pair is charged with kidnapping, unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, extortion, and possession of suspected stolen property.
State Prosecutor Bennie Wilson and defence lawyers Bond Nyoka and Wayne MacGear agreed on a trial date of 11 June.
The accused remain in custody.
