A 30-year-old man has been detained in custody in Plettenberg Bay after drugs with an estimated street value of R1 million were discovered in his car.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says on Friday last week, members set up a strategic vehicle checkpoint at the entrance into Plett where they pulled over a Chevrolet bakkie.
He says they noticed the driver behaving suspiciously and proceeded to search his vehicle.
SAPS opened a compartment on the side of the car where they found packets of Tik stashed inside.
The driver was arrested and the Tik weighing 3.08 kg and vehicle were seized.
It is believed that the drugs were destined for delivery in George.
The suspect will make his second court appearance on Friday.
