Three people have died in an accident involving a Toyota sedan with four occupants and a bakkie with two people inside.
Eastern Cape Transport Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said the accident happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Amalinda in East London.
The deceased were two males and a female, who were all passengers in the sedan, while the driver escaped with minor injuries.
Binqose said two men in the bakkie also escaped with minor injuries.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
The names of the deceased have not been released.
