The Miss South Africa organisation announced the top 30 finalists for the 2024 crown, representing eight of the country's nine provinces.
The 30 hopefuls are an impressive and diverse group and include graduates, teachers, models, businesswomen and entrepreneurs, a medical student, creatives, a choreographer, a would-be saxophonist and a young woman with profound hearing loss. One was in the Miss South Africa Top 3 in 2019.
The Eastern Cape is represented by three ladies who hail from East London, Kariega and Gqeberha.
Danae Kukard (24) is a teacher from East London and studied at Stellenbosch University.
Kaylan Zeelie (21) is originally from Kariega, but now lives in Bloemfontein, pursuing an LLB at the University of the Free State.
Nolene Spinks (23) is also a teacher, representing Gqeberha. She is currently working as a Montessori preschool teacher.
Viewers will meet the finalists in Crown Chasers, the thrilling reality TV show introducing South African viewers to those vying to take the crown from the incumbent Natasha Joubert.
The six-part series starts on SABC3 on June 29, 2024, at 20h30.
