Eastern Cape police have arrested three suspects in connection with a double farm murder.
Police spokesperson Captain Ursual Roeolofse, says the suspects, aged between 22 and 24, were arrested on Sunday while firearms stolen during the attack on the farm in the Ida district were also recovered.
She identified their alleged victims as Ruben Gouws, who was in his fifties and his elderly mother, Hermien, believed to be 89 years old.
They had been stabbed and strangled in the attack over the weekend.
Roelofse says one of the suspects was apprehended by members of the Ida community while the other two were arrested in Cala.
They are due to appear in the Indwe periodical court on Wednesday.
