Suspected drug dealer due to appear in Uitenhage Court

A 56 year-old  suspected drug dealer from Despatch is due to appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate's court on Tuesday on a charge of possession of drugs. 

Uitenhage Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei says the man was arrested on Monday after police received information that drugs were being transported from Port Elizabeth to Despatch.

He says R6 646 rand in cash was also seized during the bust and the vehicle confiscated. 

"In Heuwelkruin we pulled the vehicle off the road. We opened the bonnet and we found close to 1 000 mandrax tablets valued at about R80 000" he said.
