The Gqeberha man who allegedly killed local physiotherapist, Marolien Schmidt, appeared briefly in the city's Magistrates Court earlier today.
Thirty-one-year Simxolele Zitshu has been in custody since his arrest earlier this month.
Zitshu allegedly broke into Schmidt's home and stabbed her repeatedly in the early hours on Women's Day.
She died on her way to the hospital.

During an earlier appearance, the court heard that Zitshu was a repeat offender with prior convictions for murder and robbery.
The case was postponed for the finalisation of the indictment.
It is understood that the matter will be transferred to the Gqeberha High Court.
Zitshu will appear in court again on 6 September.
