The suspect accused of shooting and wounding a Fidelity Security Officer at KFC in Commercial Road in Gqeberha abandoned his bid for bail in the New Brighton Magistrates Court Tuesday morning.
Zukile Qhwesha,50, is charged with the murder of the security officer following an attempted cash-in-transit-heist at the fast food establishment on the 30th of December last year.
The Hawks in the province previously said the security officer was shot and killed, as well as one of Qhwesha's alleged accomplices when a shootout ensued.
Qhwesha was arrested a day after the incident, while other suspects remain at large.
The matter was remanded to the 24th of February for further investigation.
