The state has withdrawn charges against one of three women charged alongside controversial Nigerian pastor, Timothy Omotoso, when the four appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The state withdrew charges against Nobubele Mlindi who had earlier handed herself over to police after state prosecutor, Nceba Ndelwa, told the court that there was not enough evidence linking her to the case.
Meanwhile, Ndelwa also said that the state had decided to provisionally withdraw five immigration charges against Omotoso, which relates to his legal passports, adding that this would be dealt with separately after the trial.
The case against Omotoso and his two co-accused, 36-year-old Lusanda Solani, of Durban, and 28-year-old Zukiswa Sitho, was postponed to the PE High Court for pre-trial conference.
Solani and Sitho are accused of recruiting girls from across the country for Omotoso and had monitored their movements in the houses where they were being kept.
Omotoso has been in custody awaiting trial since his dramatic arrest at the Port Elizabeth airport last April by the Hawks and the SAPS Tactical Response Team.
Solani and Sitho are out on bail of R2 000 each.
The matter is back in the Port Elizabeth High Court on 2 August.
