The wife of an Eastern Cape farmer appeared briefly in the Kariega Magistrates Court earlier on Tuesday in connection with her husband's murder.
Natasha Van Eck, 56, allegedly shot her husband, Gideon, 60, in self-defence at the couple's farm Bakenkop, just outside of Kariega.
The accused was arrested a few days after the murder but was released pending further investigation.
When court proceedings got underway, Van Eck agreed to hand over her personal cell phone to the police for them to conduct an investigation.
According to the state, the deceased's daughter, however, is still in possession of her father's cell phone and is not cooperating with police in handing it over.
The court heard that a Section 205 Order would need to be obtained, once granted it will ensure the availability of evidence as it pertains to criminal proceedings.
The trial has been postponed to the 10th of November.
Van Eck is out on warning.
