Swartkops police are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal accident on the M19 in Gqeberha which claimed three lives on Sunday afternoon.
Spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart says it is alleged that the driver of a Nissan Livina lost control over the vehicle and collided with the curb next to the road before it overturned.
She says three people, an eight- year-old boy, a 25-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were declared dead at the scene.
Captain Swart says four other passengers were admitted to medical facilities in the area.
The cause of the accident is not yet known.
Meanwhile, three people were killed in an accident on the N2 near Qunu on Sunday.
The provincial transport deartment says a Toyota bakkie with five occupants collided with a Toyota Corolla with one driver.
Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says a Fiat Strada with five occupants then crashed into the two vehicles.
He says two occupants from the bakkie and the driver of the Fiat were declared dead at the scene.
The injured were rushed to a hospital in Mthatha.
