A 21-year-old man is in police custody following the gruesome discovery of six bodies in the Johannesburg CBD.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili says police were called to the building due to complaints of a foul smell coming out of one of the rooms.
She says it was then that they discovered the body of a woman on Sunday.
The suspect was the last person seen in the company of the victim on the 2nd of October.
Brigadier Muridili says upon questioning the suspect they went back to the building where five more bodies were discovered in a makeshift workshop and rubbish dumpsters.
She says the bodies were so decomposed that they would need to undergo forensic tests in order to identify them.
The cause of death is also yet to be confirmed.
The first body discovered was positively identified by her clothing as a woman who was reported missing by loved ones.
Her name has not yet been released.
The suspect will be charged with six counts of murder.
