Second car plunges over cliff at Voëlklip this month

Police opened an inquest docket after another vehicle went over the cliff at Voëlklip in Herolds Bay on Monday.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says emergency service personnel are on the scene, and recovery is underway.

He says reports from the scene indicate that the body of a woman was discovered. Circumstances around the incident are unknown.

This is a developing story.

Last week, the body of a 59-year-old man was retrieved from the water below the cliff.

Spies says further investigations at the scene later linked the deceased to the wreckage of a bakkie, also found in the water at the bottom of a nearby cliff.
