A man searching for his lost horse made a shocking discovery when he found a man's body inside the yard of the Mgwali raw pump station in the Amathole District Municipality (AMD).
AMD says tools were found with the body, indicating that they were going to be used to steal diesel from the station's transformer.
Spokesperson, Nonceba Madikizela-Vuso, says the community member who made the grim discovery contacted the Municipality which went to the scene with a traditional leader on Wednesday.
Madikizela-Vuso says while the presence of a dead body inside the yard of a water pump station might be cause for concern-the water isn't contaminated.
She says the body wasn't found inside the raw water station.
