Police are investigating a house robbery in Kariega where intruders gained access to a home in Vanes Estate in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, said a 42-year-old woman woke up to noises in the house and found two suspects removing her flat-screen television.
He said they demanded her cell phone and during a struggle a shot went off, wounding the woman in her foot.
Another woman in the house woke up to the commotion and was able to flee through a window which was broken by the intruders when they gained entry to the house.
Beetge said the 34-year-old woman sustained lacerations from the glass, while a third woman in the house, aged 25, was unhurt.
He said the intruders fled with the cell phone and TV and remain at large.
A case of house robbery is under investigation.
