A rapist was sentenced to 25 years in prison in the Thembalethu Regional Court, seven years after violating a woman from Albertinia.

An emotional scene played out in court on Wednesday when the rape survivor, 27-year-old Roshney Ntozini saw the last of her two rapists jailed.

Solomon's accomplice, Jason Smith, entered into a plea agreement with the state and is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Ntozini, who gave the media permission to disclose her identity, was hitchhiking with a male friend from Riversdale to Mossel Bay almost seven years ago.

Solomons and Smith then assaulted them both, and when her male friend ran to get help, Ntozini was kidnapped and repeatedly raped.

The trial was delayed several times during the past seven years, due to the fact that the now-convicted rapists kept changing their version of events.

Solomons was sentenced to five years imprisonment on a charge of kidnapping, three years imprisonment on a charge of assault and 25 years on a charge of rape.

The sentences will run concurrently.
