Pupils still in hospital following Uitenhage tavern shooting

No arrests have been made following the shooting incident outside Jwarha's Tavern in Kwanobuhle, Uitenhage in the early hours of Sunday morning, in which two people were killed and four others wounded.

Police spokesperson, sergeant Majola Nkohli, says the police are still following up on leads.

Molly Blackburn High school acting principal, Ntozakhe Tshazibane says he is aware of  rumours that the pupils came from the school's Matric farewell.

Tshazibane says the rumours are not true, as the school's Grade 12 Farewell took place last week Thursday.

He says the injured grade 9 will be transferred from Provincial Hospital to Livingstone Hospital on Monday to remove a bullet.

Brandwag Hoërskool has confirmed that the injured grade 8 pupil is still in Livingstone Hospital but she is doing well.

Sergeant Nkohli says the police are doing their best to make an arrest.
