Gqeberha police are investigating the murder of a mother-to-be in Malabar on Saturday night.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the deceased was 23-year-old Lutricia Solomon, who was eight months pregnant.
She said Solomon was in a shack at the back of a house in Burness Street with a friend when the friend ran into the main house and told Solomon's boyfriend to go and check if she was alive.
Naidu says she had sustained a bullet wound under each armpit. She says a statement still needs to be taken from the friend who ran away, apparently because of shock.
"At this stage, it is not clear what had transpired in the shack.
Police are investigating a case of murder," Naidu said.
