A post mortem, conducted on a teenage girl from Little Brak River, has confirmed that she was strangled.
The body of 15 year old Bonique Jansen was found on the 22nd of June next to a creek.
The learner from the Great Brak River Secondary School was missing for several days. A gardener saw her body lying underneath a bush near a house bordering the river.
Bonique was found fully clothed. A few weeks prior to her death, the body of the 17-year-old Lesley Ann Maya was also found, barely a kilometre from where Bonique’s body was lying.
Both teenagers lived in Powertown and were students of the same school. Both of them were strangled. No one has been arrested for these murders and police are still following up on leads.
