Plett local found dead at bottom of Bloukrans Bridge

Eastern Cape Emergency Medical Services

Police in Plettenberg Bay opened an inquest docket after a 57-year-old man disappeared near the Bloukrans Bridge on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says Jake Braude parked his bakkie on the bridge and was not seen again.

She says the following day the Gqeberha K9 Search and Rescue team managed to get to the bottom of the bridge where they found his body.

Colonel Naidu says due to the treacherous conditions they were unable to bring his remains to the top.

She says on Friday afternoon a chopper from the SANDF assisted in the successful recovery.

Braude is a local from Plettenberg Bay.
