A 35-year-old Port Elizabeth radio presenter appeared in the city's magistrate's court on Wednesday on a charge of sexual assault, and was granted bail of R2 000.
He was arrested at the Kings Court centre on Tuesday, were he was contracted as a freelance weekend presenter by community station, Kingfisher FM.
He was held overnight at the Humewood police station, and made his first court appearance on Wednesday.
As part of his bail conditions, the man was ordered not to make contact with the complainant or her family.
The man was not asked to plea, therefore his name cannot be released, due to the nature of the alleged crime.
The suspect allegedly made several threatening phone calls to a 22 year old woman, claiming he was going to sexually assault her. He is being charged under Section 5(2) of the Sexual Offences Act.
He must be back in court on the 22nd of October.
