Port Elizabeth police are investigating the murder of a man who was shot dead in front of a busy taxi rank in Govan Mbeki Avenue, Port Elizabeth, next to the Lilian Diedericks Municipal Building on Friday morning.
Police spokesperson Captain Johan Rheeder said the incident happened just after 7 am and despite a lot of people being in the area at the time, no-one seems to have seen anything.
Rheeder said the man still had his car keys in his hand and appeared to have had an argument with someone.
He said the man in his forties died on the scene from a single bullet wound to the left side of the face which was fired at close range.
Rheeder said that they were in the process of identifying the victim and gathering information which will hopefully lead to the shooter being arrested.
