Organisors of the massive education protest in Port Elizabeth's Northern Areas say they will reassess the call by angry parents to shutdown the Northern Areas on Monday.
This, after a late night meeting on Sunday with senior Education Officials was said to have yielded a positive outcome.
A feedback meeting to School Governing Bodies will be held at 6pm on Monday at Arcadia High School.
However, Algoa FM News has received reports that the blockade is going ahead amid a strong police presence in the Northern Areas.
Richard Draai, the Secretary of the Northern Areas Education Forum, has called on residents to remain calm.
Schools in the Northern Areas were closed last week as part of the ongoing protests about teachers shortages, the lack of appointments as well as budget matters, amongst other issues.
Mathys says another meeting will be held tomorrow with education authorities on these matters.
