A Spokesperson for the Metro Mthubanzi Mniki says this pipeline augments the supply currently being reduced due to the Impofu dam being empty.

A man from Port Alfred will appear in court in Alexandria on Monday after being found with drugs valued at more than 50-thousand rand. Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, says that the suspect was arrested at Nanaga in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A 47-year-old Port Elizabeth woman has been sentenced to four years direct imprisonment after stealing more than R400 000 from one of the city's oldest congregations. Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of murder after an alleged rapist was stabbed and assaulted to death in Ngqeleni on Saturday. It is alleged that the 35-year old man was caught red-handed by members of the community, who responded while he was allegedly raping a 70-year-old woman in a forest at knife-point.

Four people were killed in two separate road accidents in the Eastern Cape at the weekend. The provincial transport department says in the first accident on Saturday evening, two joggers, aged 15 and 22 were killed in a hit-and-run incident on the N6 in Komani - previously Queenstown - while two people were killed in a head-on collision in the early hours of Saturday in Mthatha.
