Police in Uitenhage have launched a manhunt for an unknown gunman who shot and killed a 26-year-old man in Rosedale on Thursday.

Captain Andre Beetge says 38-year-old Sivuyile Mtshizana, who works as a guard for EnviroServ Waste Management, was stabbed by a young man who had just cut a hole through the fence with his accomplice to pick up discarded sweets.

Police in Port Elizabeth arrested a teenager who allegedly robbed a cafe in Missionvale on Tuesday afternoon. Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says four men entered the cafe in Aloes Valley in Missionvale, pretending to be customers.

A Police Sergeant from Waldrift, Vereeniging was killed on her way to work on Tuesday night. Spokesperson Brigadier Vishnu Naidu says the 40-year-old female officer was picked up by two colleagues just after 7 PM and were on their way to report for duty.
