A man believed to be in his sixties has died after he was assaulted with a mannequin in Korsten in Gqeberha. Colonel Priscilla Naidu says a vagrant was woken up by the suspect who was looking for someone around 02h00 on Tuesday.

A 30-year-old taxi driver has been arrested after he fatally struck a 14-year-old boy and fled from the accident scene in Stanford Road, Gqeberha.

Police in Gqeberha are investigating two unrelated cases of culpable homicide that took place in the last 24-hours. The 48-year-old Debbie Botha was killed in a collision on Sunday while a 35-year-old man was killed in the early hours of Monday morning.

Two people have been killed in a road accident on the N2 near the Amalinda off-ramp in East London. Provincial Traffic department spokesperson Unathi Binqose reports that both victims were burnt beyond recognition in the accident earlier on Monday morning.
