The Hawks in the Eastern Cape have secured the conviction and sentencing to fines, of two company directors and a businessman on charges of fraud.

A 33-year-old man appeared in the Gelvandale Magistrates court in Gqeberha on Friday for allegedly assaulting his mother with an axe handle. The incident happened on Thursday morning at the victim's house in St Oswald Street in West End.
