A suspected copper cable thief has been shot dead by police during a high-speed chase and shootout on the N6 between Maletsai and Komani. Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a pregnant woman was hit by a taxi. Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the accident happened on Sunday afternoon when the 38-year-old deceased crossed the street on Stanford Road.
