Gqeberha detectives are on the hunt for the suspects involved in a shooting incident at a car dealership in William Moffett Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

An investigation is currently underway after the Motherwell Library in NU10, Gqeberha was destroyed in a fire on Wednesday.

Police in Gqeberha are searching for several suspects who fled an accident scene shortly after a robbery in Walmer yesterday. Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says at about 4 pm the complainant was inside his shop at 6th Avenue in Walmer when five suspects entered.

A Gqeberha man who allegedly stole a BMX worth R10 000 from a bicycle rack on a car has been detained. Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the 20-year-old Marco Witbooi was arrested in his shack at the Madiba Village (Piet se Bos), nearly a week after the bike was stolen.

The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Senzo Mchunu, says he wants all the remaining water leaks in Nelson Mandela Bay closed by Friday this week. Mchunu briefed the media earlier on Monday on the progress made so far by the city to avert Day Zero.

A biker, who is seen on video allegedly assaulting a woman in Gqeberha, has been granted bail of R2 000 in the local magistrate's court. He was arrested at the Walmer police station on Monday morning where he presented himself with his attorney.
