The Gqeberha man accused of killing his ex-wife will have to wait longer for a bed to become available at the Fort England psychiatric hospital. Johnny Baartman has been referred for a psychiatric evaluation after he allegedly murdered his ex-wife, Desiree Baartman, at the couple's Bethelsdorp home in June.

A well-known farmer from Aberdeen, facing serious charges of rape and human trafficking in the Eastern Cape is expected to apply for bail in the local Magistrates Court on Thursday. The 41-year-old farmer, whose name is known to Algoa FM News, is currently out on bail for allegedly raping his seven-year-old daughter on several occasions.

A decomposed body that washed up at the River Mouth in Sedgefield last week has been identified. Police Spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says the body of 61-year-old Johannes Le Roux was discovered by a beachgoer, who spotted the body hidden underneath branches near the water.

Police in Gqeberha are searching for unknown suspects who broke into the Woolworths store in the Walmer Park Shopping Centre on Monday night. A six-year-old child drowned in a hole filled with sewage last week in Kariega. Liyema Nzewuza was apparently playing with friends when he fell into the hole.
