A convicted Bank robber who is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence in the Western Cape has been arrested for a robbery in Gqeberha. Spokesperson for the Hawks Yolisa Mgolodela says 33-year-old Sinako Magi was arrested on Tuesday and appeared before the New Law Courts in Gqeberha.

Sixteen out of the 39 municipalities in the Eastern Cape are considered to be “financially unstable.”

A group of protesters gathered outside the East London Magistrates Court on Monday to demand that no bail be granted to the alleged killer of Zoleka Putye. Putye was attending worship practice at the Christian Centre in Abbotsford last Thursday when she was approached by a gunman as she walking to her car. According to reports Putye was shot several times as she fled from her vehicle.
