Operation Fiela yielded a large success at the Russell Road Taxi Rank in Nelson Mandela Bay on Thursday.
Hundreds of South African Police members have fanned out across the metro as part of the third installment on the Eastern Cape leg of a country wide scoop.
Provincial Spokesperson, Brigadier Marinda Mills, says during a five hour long operation traffic fines amounting to R55 000 were given to vehicles that were stopped and inspected.
Mills says 2 suspects were arrested for the possession of suspected stolen property, in addition 27 cellphones and 3 laptops were recovered amongst other items.
She says dagga and tik with an estimated street value of R5 000 were also seized.
In total 320 people, 92 premises and 90 vehicles were searched.
Operation Fiela is expected to continue in another area of the metro on Friday.
