No new leads as funeral arrangements announced for Bay activist

Pam Mabini (46)

The Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes unit in Gqeberha is still appealing to the public to assist with information following the murder of Pamela Mabini.

Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says they have no new information to share with the media.

The 46-year-old Mabini was shot dead inside her vehicle, which was parked right next to her family home.

She sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Mabini was the whistleblower in the case against Nigerian Pastor Timothy Omotoso who has been an awaiting trial prisoner in Gqeberha for almost seven years.

During the numerous court appearances of Omotoso and his co-accused, Mabini lent support to his alleged victims.

Mabini has been quoted as saying that her tireless efforts to help others were "sparked by love.

Omotoso is expected in court in April for judgment following a case marred by controversies.

His legal representative Peter Daubermann got numerous sex trafficking and rape charges against his client dismissed and called for his client's acquittal, emphasizing that the State failed to prove their guilt beyond any reasonable doubt.

Mabini will be laid to rest on Saturday after a service at the Feather Market Hall.
