The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says significant progress has been made on the 132kV Chelsea/Summerstrand/Arlington power line.
It said in an update on Saturday that all necessary repairs had been completed within the project timeframes.
Metro spokesperson, Sithembiso Soyaya says the substations associated with this line have been successfully energised, and power has been restored to most customers affected by the outages.
"Our dedicated construction teams have worked tirelessly to restore power, and we are now in the final stages of the restoration process. The operational teams are now engaged in a gradual restoration process to ensure all customers consistently regain their power supply", he said.
The Municipality says during this final phase, some customers may experience occasional power outages and disruptions as adjustments are made to stabilise the system.
It says these outages are part of the normal restoration process.
"However, if your power is not restored within two hours, please consider it a standard fault, and report it to the Municipality for further assistance", Soyaya said.
