The 62-year-old tavern owner from Gqeberha, charged with the double murder of a Windvogel father and his son, made a brief appearance in the city's Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Norma Jacobs has been charged with the murders and kidnapping of 45-year-old Edwin de Vos and his 19-year-old son, Leonardo.
Their bodies were discovered next to a gravel road near Addo in August 2023.
Both had sustained gunshot wounds.
State prosecutor Advocate Velile Makasana told the court that there had been a new development in the case, which would affect the current indictment.
Makasana did not mention in court what this new development was, only that the indictment would need to be updated.
It is understood that the possibility of more arrests in the case were not off the cards.
He also said the case would be transferred to the Gqeberha High Court for trial.

Jacob's attorney, Theuns Roelofse did not object to the State's request for a postponement.
In February last year, the State dropped all charges against Jacobs' co-accused, Thembisihle Selani.
It has not been placed on record whether Selani will be used as a Section 204 witness (State witness).
Edwin and Leonardo were both mechanics.
It is understood that they had done repair work to the accused' vehicle before their deaths.
They were last seen alive when they left their home in Windvogel with Jacobs, allegedly to go and inspect her vehicle.
She initially abandoned her bail bid citing safety reasons, though the State did not oppose her release on bail.
She was however released on bail after changing her mind.
The case was postponed to 10 March.
