The department of Water and Sanitation will host a Water Leaks Programme at the Dan Qeqe Stadium in Nelson Mandela Bay on August 28.
Metro spokesperson, Mthubanzi Mniki says it is expected that President Jacob Zuma will deliver the key note address.
During the 2015 State of the Nation Address, Zuma announced that government will train 15 000 artisans, water agents and plumbers to fix leaking taps and pipes in their respective communities, as part of promoting water conservation.
Zuma was responding to a report that the country loses about 36%of water annually, which amounts to R7 billion.
Minister Nomvula Mokonyane appointed Rand Water to implement the War on Leaks project, which is expected to run over a five-year period.
