Mother and step-dad in court following death of 9 year-old George boy

The mother of a nine-year-old boy and the child’s stepfather will make their first appearance in the George Magistrates Court on Monday, following his death over the weekend.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies says the 31-year-old woman and the 32-year-old man were arrested in Jakaranda Street in Pacaltsdorp on Saturday.

Spies said when police arrived on the scene, the victim was already in an ambulance.

He said the child had multiple bruises over his body, head, and legs, and was declared on the scene by paramedics.

Spies said the exact circumstances surrounding the child’s death are still being investigated.
