The bail application of a 25-year-old man from Mossel Bay who is accused of being in possession of child pornography continued on Wednesday.
The suspect, who has not yet pleaded, was arrestd on the 2nd of February at his home in Da Nova and has been in custody in the George prison ever since.
During his arrest, police found 48 photos of child pornography on one of his devices but have since confiscated eight more devices where more than 1.2 million photos were found.
The investigating officer in the case Captain Franco Bestbier testified two weeks ago that he still had to go through the hundreds of thousands of images.
The state called another witness to the stand from the Police Investigative Psychology Unit to testify on Wednesday.
The state is opposing bail.
The accused, whose name is known to Algoa FM News, is the eighth suspect to be arrested since November last year as part of an international crackdown in conjunction with authorities from the United States.
Twenty-seven South Africans have so far been arrested since the international investigation started while three suspects were in Mossel Bay.
The accused is facing a schedule 1 offence and therefore the onus lies on the State to prove why the accused should be granted bail.
He remains in custody until his next court appearance on the 3rd of May.
