The two suspects allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a foreign national in East London made a brief appearance in the city's magistrates court on Friday.
Mfundo Milake (32) and Odwa Noqoko (27) face charges of kidnapping and money laundering for their alleged role in the abduction of the victim from his warehouse in November last year.
According to the Hawks, Milake, Noqoko, and Mlandeli Gwandiso, a security guard to the victim, had collaborated with co-accused Bongonkosi Gwandiso (25), Mxolisi Mapoyi (38), Sandisile Sithonga (32) and Dumisani Bontsi (47) to commit the crime.
Hawks Eastern Cape spokesperson, Warrant-Officer Ndiphiwe Mhlakuvana said the victim was in his vehicle when the suspects approached and forced him to drive away.
He said they forced him to provide his card pin which they used to make withdrawals and purchases to the value of R300 000.
Mhlakuvana said Milake and Noqoko will remain in custody and join the other accused in the dock on 5 June.
