Eastern Cape police identified the mother and her son who were brutally gunned down in Amalinda in East London on Wednesday.
Police Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa identified the victims as 44-year-old Asanda Gantsa and her 10-year-old son Ingelethu.
She says no arrests have been made.
The shooting incident took place shortly before 7 am near CTM in Amalinda where Asanda's body was found in the driver seat of her grey Toyota Yaris while Ingelethu was lying on the pavement next to the car on the passenger side.
Both had gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.
Gantsa worked as a service advisor for a well-known motor dealership and worked her way up in the industry where she started as a cleaner in 2010 in the passenger vehicle division.
