The National Prosecuting Authority has indicted management consulting company McKinsey South Africa on charges of fraud, theft and corruption related to state capture at Transnet.
The NPA announced on Friday that it had charged former McKinsey SA Principal Vigas Sagar and employee Goitseone Mangope in relation to fraudulent activities involving R398.4 million at Transnet.
NPA spokesperson Sindisiwe Seboka said the matter was postponed to the 14th of October where they'll be joined in the dock by several high-ranking Transnet executives - including former Group CEO Brian Molefe and former Group Chief Financial Officer Anoj Singh.
"For us this is a victory that we finally got to a place where we were able to bring a global company of McKinsey's stature before court," said Seboka.
Several Regiments Capital Directors are also facing charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering related to the 2012 procurement of 1064 locomotives worth over R54 billion.
The NPA said the accused also face charges linked to R93.4 million paid to Trillian Asset Management in 2015.
