Eastern Cape police launched a manhunt for three suspects who abducted and murdered a woman after breaking into her house early on Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa, said the incident happened in Khayelitsha township in Dimbaza.
She said three men entered the woman’s house at about 01h30 and went to her room where they pointed a firearm at her and demanded that she show them something outside.
According to Mawisa she never returned home.
Her family alerted the police and the woman’s body was found on Thursday morning on a gravel road between Xhukwana and Ntonga Location outside Qonce, formerly King Williams Town.
Police are investigating a case of murder.
The police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in tracing the suspects, saying they should contact SAPS CrimeStop number 08600 10111 or alternatively their nearest police station.
