Detectives in Port Elizabeth are on the hunt for three suspects who broke into a guesthouse in Kingfisher Lane in Sardinia Bay in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says a 23-year-old guest from Pretoria was awoken at about 2 am with three armed men in his room.
According to the victim, one man had a gun, and the other two a panga and crowbar.
The man was tied up with cables and locked into the bedroom.
Naidu says the suspects also broke into one of the cottages by removing the bathroom window.
The men stole five TV sets, two phones, cash and personal belongings.
Police are appealing to second-hand shops to be on the lookout for any men with foreign accents bringing TV sets for sale.
