Police in Gqeberha are investigating a house robbery and attempted murder following a home invasion in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for police Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the incident happened at 3.20 am in Dolpour Street in Kamma Heights.
She says a woman woke up when three suspects switched on her light, demanding her cell phones.
They gained entry to the house by removing an aluminium window.
Janse van Rensburg says the suspects then went to the bedroom of her husband and a gunshot was heard, whereafter the suspects fled.
The estranged couple was sleeping in separate bedrooms.
The man was rushed to hospital for further treatment.
The suspects fled with two phones and a Macbook laptop.
