A man kidnapped in Port Alfred on Monday has been rescued by police.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the 56-year-old victim was found in a house in Kwanobuhle on Thursday with his hands and feet bound.
She says one suspect was arrested while his accomplice fled the scene.
On Monday, the victim arrived at his home in Nemato, roundabout 7 pm when a woman approached him at the gate to ask questions about his brother.
During their interaction, an armed suspect appeared and forced him into his house before two more armed men joined.
Colonel Naidu says the complainant was kidnapped in his VW Caravelle and was spotted travelling towards Gqeberha.
She says intelligence information was received and immediately operationalised.
On Thursday a house was penetrated in Zwide where two men were found, and one arrested.
The victim's vehicle keys, a silver Hyundai 120 and a firearm were confiscated while the complainant's car was found abandoned in an informal settlement in Kwazakhele.
Colonel Naidu says the 40-year-old suspect is detained on charges of kidnapping and house robbery while an inquiry was opened in respect of the firearm.
She says he will be taken to Port Alfred to make his first court appearance on Friday.
The search for the other suspects continues.
