A 28-year-old man from Heidelberg in the Western Cape has died after he fell into a silo full of grain.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the deceased, Irvan Hopp, lost his balance and fell through an opening at around lunchtime on Friday.
Hopp worked on the farm Karringmelkrivier where the incident happened.
He leaves behind six children
The Heidelberg police and emergency services were called to the scene but Hopp was declared dead.
Police have opened an inquest docket.
