A man who was found in possession of stolen milk worth just over R800 spend the weekend in custody and is expected to appear in the Somerset East Magistrates Court on Monday.
Colonel Naidu says police responded to a complaint at a petrol station next to the N10 in Cookhouse where 114 boxes of 1-litre milk were stolen from a truck that was parked on the premises overnight.
She says police searched the surrounding area and within 15 minutes - arrested a 38-year-old suspect.
Only 48 boxes of milk were found in his possession.
He will be charged with theft from a motor vehicle and possession of suspected stolen property.
