Two men have been sentenced in the Port Elizabeth High Court to life imprisonment for the murder of community policing forum founder Naeem Desai.
Deswyn Kleinbooi (22) and 19-year-old Eston Afrikaner, were jailed on Thursday for Desai's murder in 2016.
Kleinbooi was convicted on a charge of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances but was acquitted of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition while Afrikaner was convicted on all counts.
Desai, from Jadeeds Bakery, was gunned down while delivering bread in Helenvale in 2016.
Judge Dyalin Chetty, who earlier on Thursday turned down applications for leave to appeal by wife killer, Christopher Panayiotou and his co-accused, also rejected Kleinbooi and Afrikaners's applications for leave to appeal.
