The kidnapping trial of Gqeberha biokineticist Riana Pretorius was postponed in the city's Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Pretorius was kidnapped outside her workplace in Newton Park on 16 March last year, and released eight days later after a R1.1m ransom was paid.
She was present in court for the first time since her ordeal, as she is set to testify against her alleged kidnappers, Xolisile Rawutini and Xolani Kafile.
The pair is charged with kidnapping, unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, extortion, and possession of suspected stolen property.
When the case resumed on Tuesday, Rawutini's attorney, Wayne MacGear told the court he needed time to study his client's cell phone records that had been obtained from the state.
Thereafter he needs to schedule a time to consult with his client.
According to MacGear, he received the 40-page cell phone records report at 7 am on Tuesday.
State Prosecutor Benedict Wilson told the court that all of the cell phone records had previously been given to the state on a disc, but not all of it had seemingly reached MacGear.
