One of the joggers who came across a traumatised Andy Kawa the morning after her rape ordeal testified in the trial against her alleged rapist in the city's High Court on Thursday.
Moses Gqesha is accused of raping Kawa on 9 December 2010 along Kings Beach.
Kawa took the stand in the criminal case last week, more than 14 years after she was raped.
Gqesha pleaded not guilty to raping her as well as charges of kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Julian Britz, one of the joggers who encountered Kawan the morning after her ordeal, testified on behalf of the State.
Britz said he was jogging with two friends from Supertubes to the harbour wall when they encountered an emotionally distressed Kawa who asked for help.
According to Britz, she told them she had been held against her will overnight and that she had been raped.
The court heard that when Britz and his friends went to help Kawa, she was dressed in white pants and a top, and she carried a pair of panties in her hand.
He recalled noticing that Kawa had a bruised lip.
Britz' friends ran to the parking lot to go and phone the police, while Britz and Kawa slowly made their way back.
He said Kawa struggled to walk, presumably from what she experienced overnight.
Kawa and the joggers waited for the police to arrive in the parking lot to no avail.
Britz eventually took Kawa to the Humewood police station where she was assisted.
At the police station, it came to light that police had launched a search for Kawa the previous night.
The trial continues.
